Beneficiaries

Stop Soldier Suicide.jpg

Stop Soldier Suicide (SSS), a 501(c)3, is the only national nonprofit organization focused solely on solving the issue of suicide among veterans and service members who are disproportionately impacted. SSS was founded by three Army veterans after losing friends to suicide. As veterans themselves, they possess a unique perspective of the systems that do and do not work within the military. They know that getting help isn’t easy within the military infrastructure, particularly when a person is in crisis. Because of this knowledge and their passion to change things Stop Soldier Suicide was assembled. SSS realizes that the key to preventing suicide is addressing “underlying” issues before those issues become a crisis situation. Much like Poppy’s, SSS was born out of a need to do better for those around us through education, advocacy and support.

In addition to the services we provide at our offices, we also bring health and support services directly to homes and schools. We look forward to continuing to meet the needs of our neighbors and communities through innovative and compassionate approaches to behavioral healthcare.

Our mission is to honor the lives of those we have lost to suicide while raising awareness and funds for mental health and suicide prevention resources.
