Poppy's Story
On November 13, 1982, Caryn's grandfather—“Poppy”—died by suicide.
On March 9, 2022, Caryn's father, also “Poppy,” died by suicide.
Her family, friends, and Caryn were devastated—and they're not alone.
Suicide continues to rise across the United States. It is one of the leading causes of death, impacting tens of thousands of lives each year—and countless more who struggle in silence. Beyond the numbers, suicide leaves a lasting impact on families, friends, coworkers, and entire communities.
For Caryn, Family and Everyone that experiences suicide, the grief is ongoing.
The question echoes often:
“Is there anything I could have done?”
That question became a turning point.
Turning Pain Into Purpose
Caryn decided to take action.
Together with her family, friends, and supporters, she created Poppy’s For Life—a growing movement dedicated to suicide prevention, awareness, and community connection.
Through initiatives like:
• Poppy’s Run For Life
• Poppy’s Row For Life
• Poppy’s Gala For Life (launching 2026)
—we are bringing people together to honor lives, support healing, and create real change.
Our Impact
Thanks to this incredible community, we have already raised and donated:
• $105,000 to The Montrose Center
• $105,000 to Alexander JFS
And Poppy's For Life is just getting started.
We are working to change the conversation around suicide—breaking stigma, fostering connection, and supporting organizations that provide life-saving care, education, and resources.
This is bigger than one story. It’s about all of us.
If you feel called to be part of this mission—whether by attending, volunteering, donating, or sharing—please reach out. Together, we can bring hope to those who need it most.

Our Founder: Caryn Honig
We believe in breaking the silence around suicide, empowering individuals to share their stories, and fostering a community of support and hope.
Our Mission
Our mission is to honor our loved ones who have died by suicide and to raise funds and awareness about suicide and mental health resources. We bring communities together, reduce stigmas, and support and love. All proceeds will go to two chosen organizations that offer suicide prevention and awareness.
